CTWW YOUTH PROJECT – Complying with Coronavirus Lockdown Regulations

The Youth project has been active and busy in different ways during lockdown. Faye has been keeping in touch with our young people in West Wight by means of social media. Members of The Pack regularly communicate with each other, but have a fun, weekly Zoom meeting, too.

Faye contacted all the Rock Solid families and offered them craft kits, which she has now delivered to those who said they wanted them. She is also keeping in touch with RS, some of whom have been joining in with members of The Pack in IOW Youth for Christ virtual evenings.

Many of these young people will not get back to school until the Autumn, so keeping them engaged and busy will be a challenge. However, Faye and the Youth for Christ Team are planning more exciting activities for them in the next few months. They are having a well-earned rest over half term. Please pray for the Youth for Christ Team as they engage with our young people across the island, sharing the good news of the gospel, and showing the love of Christ through fun games and activities.

Faye Smith, our CTWW Youth Worker, may not be meeting with her groups physically, but she is still maintaining regular contact with families and also holding weekly Zoom meetings with members of The Pack. Please continue to pray for this essential and valuable work amongst our young people in West Wight.

Young People’s Prayer Requests – September 2020

To all our wonderful Youth Project supporters!

I hope this email finds you well and keeping safe.

As we approach the end of September, and what appears to be a continued season of uncertainty, your prayers for the WWCYP are as valued as ever! As you can imagine, we are not 100% certain on how the next few months may pan out (who is?) but please would you pray that the right decisions would be made for our young people and volunteers. We made the decision to get our Rock Solid & RS2 clubs up and running again this week – it has been a positive start and great to see the young people again, many of whom we haven’t seen since March!

Below are some specific updates and prayer points:

  • Rock Solid –Praise God the young people did very well with the extra social distancing rules. Please pray the young people would still be able to have lots of fun with us, and that the seeds we are planting in their lives would bear fruit. We also have a RSTV Live night on Youtube in October – please pray the message of Jesus would reach many homes.

  • The Pack – Praise God for the ways we have been able to continue to meet over the summer. Please pray our young people would grow in their hunger for Jesus, and seek Him over this time of uncertainty.

  • Please pray for our young people who are particularly anxious about being back at school in the midst of the pandemic (and for our young people who have already been told to isolate due to confirmed cases within their school) – pray they would keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and know his peace.

  • Please pray for the young people we are not able to have at our groups due to having to keep group sizes small – please pray they will not be isolated, but can connect in other ways and get the support they need too.

There are of course many things that we are not able to do at this time – residentials, large group gatherings, sung worship etc. But we know God’s love, His goodness and His power are not limited by these restrictions! God still wants to work in the lives of young people in the West Wight – and He is still at work in their lives. Thank you for all your continued support and prayers.

“We may not know what the future holds, but we do know the One who holds the future in His hands”.

God Bless,

Faye x
