It is with regret that we must inform you of the death of Dr Ian Young. Ian, together with his wife Sylvia, was a generous benefactor of Christ Church, and financed the new stained-glass window in the Chancel as well as the covered walkway to the Annexe, now under construction. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sylvia, son Graham and all of the family.
Our Harvest Festival Service followed by lunch in the Church, took place last Sunday. As a result, 135.10 Kilos of non – perishable items were taken to the Foodbank along with a cheque for £200 from the profit on the lunch. A very big thank you to our Catering Team. A box of perishable items was donated to Our Place on Tuesday. Photos of the day can be seen on the church website.
We have received the following item from Doreen Dace:
Please advertise the Celebration of Community in your churches as much as you can as we really do want to praise God for the wonderful opportunities, links and partnerships we have in WW between our churches and so many different groups in the community. In addition, as all WW churches contribute to our Youth Project financially and prayerfully, this is an opportunity to meet and welcome formally our new Youth Worker, Faye Smith. We anticipate each church having a representative there to shake her hand in welcome.
From 4-5pm there will be displays from various local groups who we work with in West Wight, several that are very new projects. Then from 5-6pm we have our Songs of Praise. The event takes place in Moa Café (West Wight Sports and Community Centre).
Thanks for your continued support for CTWW. Blessings Doreen
